Biography
Rosalba Dominguez
Rosalba Dominguez is a Democratic member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 35. She assumed office on January 1, 2025. A first-generation Mexican-American born to working-class parents, she is dedicated to building partnerships with community leaders and empowering individuals who find it challenging to navigate systems that can feel daunting and inaccessible. Her career experience includes working as a small business owner. She has contributed to numerous boards dedicated to community advancement. Upon entering the state legislature, she became one of only four Latinas serving in the Utah House of Representatives.
Education
Dominguez earned an associate degree in graphic design from Salt Lake Community College. She also holds a bachelor's degree in film and video production from the Brooks Institute of Photography.
Political Experience
Prior to her election to the state legislature, Dominguez served as a member on the Murray City Council, where she was the first Latina to serve in that position. In the Utah House of Representatives, she serves on the Public Utilities and Energy and Transportation standing committees, as well as the General Government appropriations subcommittee.
Dominguez won the general election for Utah House of Representatives District 35 on November 5, 2024, defeating Republican candidate Mike Bird. Her current term ends on January 1, 2027. She is running for re-election to District 35 in 2026. During the 2026 legislative session, she sponsored legislation including HB0504 regarding political advertising modifications and HCR013.
