Biography
Representative Ronny Johns
Ronny Johns is a Republican member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives representing District 25, which encompasses parts of McClain, Pontotoc, and Pottawatomie counties, including Ada. A native of Ada, Johns has represented his district since 2018. He is the son of two educators and remains deeply connected to his community through both professional and civic engagement.
Johns is married to Renee, who has worked in education for 30 years and currently serves as a counselor at Pontotoc County Technology Center. Together they have three children and four grandchildren. He is active in his faith community, serving as a church elder, Sunday school teacher, and worship leader at Central Church of Christ in Ada.
Education
Johns is a graduate of Byng High School and East Central University, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees.
Political Experience
Before his election to the Oklahoma House, Johns spent 32 years as an educator in the Ada City School System, serving as a teacher, coach, athletic coordinator, vice-principal, and principal at Ada Jr. High when elected in 2018.
As a state representative, Johns serves as Chair of the Transportation Committee and holds positions on the Committee on A&B Education, Commerce and Economic Development Oversight, Common Education, and Postsecondary Education committees. He has been active in legislative work, including co-sponsoring notable bills such as House Bill 4265, which designated a memorial highway honoring longtime House employee Harvey Weathers Jr.
