Biography
Senator Ron Winterton
Ronald M. Winterton is a Republican member of the Utah State Senate representing the 20th District since 2023. Prior to redistricting, he represented the 26th District beginning in 2019. His district encompasses Daggett, Duchesne, Summit, Uintah, and Wasatch counties in northeastern Utah.
Political Experience
Winterton began his public service career as a Duchesne County Commissioner, serving from 2009 to 2019. In 2018, he ran for election to the Utah State Senate representing the 26th District. He won a competitive three-way Republican primary with 43.1% of the vote and secured the general election with 62.7% of the vote. He assumed office on January 1, 2019.
