Biography
Ron Napoli Jr.
Ronald A. Napoli Jr. is a Democratic state representative serving Connecticut's 73rd district in Waterbury, New Haven County. He was elected in 2018 and assumed office in 2019.
Ron Napoli Jr. was born on November 2, 1974, and is a lifelong resident of Waterbury. He is currently the Assistant Majority Leader in the Connecticut House of Representatives. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking National Parks and spending time with family and friends.
Education
Napoli graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1999, with a degree in European History and a minor in Political Science. He later earned a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies from the University of Bridgeport in 2003, graduating with honors.
Political Experience
Before his election to the state legislature, Napoli served on the Waterbury Board of Aldermen from 2009 to 2019, where he held the position of President Pro-Tempore for six years—the second-most influential post on the board. He also served as vice chair of the Intergovernmental Committee, representative to the Board of Park Commissioners, and chair of the Good Job Liaison Committee.
In the Connecticut House of Representatives, Napoli serves on the Aging Committee and the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, where he serves as Chair of the Bonding Subcommittee. He is also active in community organizations, including the Greenway Advisory Committee, Friends of the Greenway, the Waterbury Democratic Town Committee, and the Italian-American Democratic Club.
In recognition of his contributions to education and public service, Napoli received the 2018 Monsignor Coleman Award from Sacred Heart High School and was voted the 2018 Most Effective Alderman by the Waterbury Observer Readers Poll. He is a public school history teacher at Wilby High School in Waterbury.
