Biography
Senator Ron Muzzall
Ron Muzzall is a Republican state senator representing Washington's 10th Legislative District, which includes all of Island County and parts of Skagit and Snohomish counties. He is a fourth-generation Whidbey Islander and a lifelong farmer who serves as the managing partner at 3 Sisters Family Farm. Muzzall is a husband, father, and grandfather with deep roots in his community.
Education
Muzzall graduated from Washington State University, continuing a family tradition as the third generation of his family to attend the institution.
Political Experience and Positions
Muzzall has extensive experience in public service and agricultural leadership:
Current Legislative Positions: Ranking Member of the Agriculture Committee, Assistant Ranking Member of the Health and Long Term Care Committee, and serves on the Ways and Means and Rules Committees. He also holds the position of Deputy Caucus Chair in the Republican caucus.
Fire Service: Worked with North Whidbey Fire and Rescue for twenty years, serving as a firefighter, officer, and fire commissioner for eleven years.
Agricultural and Cooperative Leadership: Served on committees for Darigold and the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives. He spent fifteen years on the board of Skagit Farmers Supply, serving five years as chairman, and eight years on the corporate board of Land O'Lakes cooperative, where he focused on governance, board performance, audit, and political action committees.
Muzzall is known for bringing a civil and pragmatic voice to the state legislature, focusing on common-sense solutions and responsible government spending.
