Ron Hood
Ronald Edward Hood was a Republican politician from Ohio who passed away on April 19, 2025, at age 55. He was born on June 2, 1969, in Warren, Ohio, to Edward and Ruth Hood. Hood was known for his staunch conservative stances throughout his political career and served as an executive director for the National Right to Work Committee.
Education
Hood earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business in 1991, with dual majors in marketing and economics.
Political Experience
Hood had an extensive career in Ohio politics spanning multiple decades:
State House Service: He first ran for the Ohio House of Representatives in 1992 but narrowly lost. He was elected in 1994 and served across multiple districts, including the 57th, 78th, and 91st districts. His periods of service included 1995-2000, 2005-2006, and 2013-2021.
Committee Work: Hood served on key committees including the House Commerce and Labor Committee and the House Criminal Justice Committee. He also held the position of Vice Chair of the Armed Services and Veterans Affairs Committee.
