Biography
Ron Bolton is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 61, which covers western Tuscaloosa County and eastern Pickens County . Elected on November 8, 2022, after defeating Republican primary challenger Kimberly Madison and Libertarian Damon Pruet , he assumed office on November 9, 2022, succeeding Rodney Sullivan. A business executive and managing principal of The Warwick Group LLC, Bolton previously served 25 years with the Northport Police Department, retiring as captain in 2011, and worked as a campaign strategist. He is married to Sharon, has two children, and is a Baptist from Tuscaloosa. Notable positions include chair of the Tuscaloosa County Legislative Delegation and service on the Agriculture and Forestry, Ethics and Campaign Finance, and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees; he has also been on the Alabama Republican State Executive Committee. Key achievements encompass sponsoring bills on agriculture, rural health, and taxation; expanding rural broadband; aiding rural healthcare ; securing road/bridge funds; and supporting economic development.
