Biography
Rollan A. Roberts is a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 9. A pastor and educator, he assumed office on January 9, 2019, and resides in Beaver, West Virginia, with his wife Debbie and three children: Rollan II, Rhonda, and Ryan. He has served southern West Virginia for decades as senior pastor of Victory Baptist Church and administrator of Victory Baptist Academy since 1988, growing the ministry debt-free.
Notable achievements include securing $6 million for a new Salvation Army facility serving multiple counties, leading tax cuts totaling $750 million in 2023, contributing to West Virginia's first labor force participation rate increase in over 50 years, and advancing bills on school choice, workforce initiatives, religious liberty, and abortion limits with exceptions. He holds positions such as Vice Chair of Senate Finance, Chair of the Workforce Committee, and roles on Education, Health, and Children & Families Committees, plus Assistant Majority Whip.
In 2026, he sponsored five bills: SJR 14, SB 444, SB 683, SB 684, and SB 890.
