Biography
Roger Hanshaw is a Republican politician representing District 33 in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Born on March 24, 1980, in Charleston, West Virginia, he serves as the Speaker of the House since August 2018, making him the 58th Speaker. He is an attorney at Bowles Rice LLP, specializing in environmental litigation, regulatory compliance, oil & gas, coal, and education law. Hanshaw is married to Kirsten, with two daughters, Kathryn and Rebecca; they reside in Wallback and are members of Fola Missionary Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon. Notable achievements include his certification as a Certified Professional Parliamentarian , serving as chair of the House Committee on Special Investigations, and board membership with the West Virginia Farm Bureau. He was first elected in 2014, defeating incumbent Democrat David Walker.
