Biography
Roger Goodman is a Democratic state representative for Washington's 45th Legislative District, Position 1, serving since 2007. He resides in Kirkland with his daughter Vivian and son Felix, and has focused his career on criminal justice, public safety, and policy reform. Notable achievements include leading legislation to reduce drunk driving, expand early childhood education, reform domestic violence laws, improve court systems, and enhance emergency preparedness. He ranks among the most effective U.S. legislators, with half of his introduced bills passing, and has received awards such as Legislator of the Year from the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs and Washington State Fraternal Order of Police . Currently, he chairs the House Community Safety, Justice, and Re-entry Committee and the Statute Law Committee, and serves on the Civil Rights & Judiciary and Human Services, Youth and Early Learning committees.
