Biography
Roger Albert
Roger Clarence Albert is a Republican state representative from Maine, representing House District 2 in Aroostook County. He resides in Madawaska and represents the communities of Cross Lake Township, Frenchville, Grand Isle, Madawaska, Madawaska Lake Township, Perham, Sinclair Township, Square Lake, St. Agatha, and Van Buren.
Albert is a retired individual with a background in construction and mill work. He spent much of his career operating a paper coating machine in a mill and worked as an independent contractor in the construction industry.
Military Service
Albert served six years in the Maine Army National Guard artillery brigade, demonstrating a commitment to public service before his legislative career.
Political Experience
Albert was elected to the Maine House of Representatives in November 2022 and has served in the 131st and 132nd legislative sessions. He serves on the Transportation Committee, which has jurisdiction over the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, motor vehicle registration and licensing, the Maine Turnpike Authority, highway construction and maintenance, traffic regulation, waterways, railroads, and related transportation policy matters.
Albert successfully ran for re-election during the 2024 election cycle, defeating his Democratic challenger Roland Martin.
Family
Albert is married to Jacqueline and has three children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
