Representative Robert Q. Williams

Robert Q. Williams is a Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives representing District 62 since 2007. Notable achievements include his service as a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, military awards such as the Army Commendation Medal, and committee roles as 2nd Vice Chair of the Invitations and Memorials Resolutions Committee and member of the Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee.

Born July 12, 1964, in Darlington, South Carolina, Robert Quintin Williams is a business development consultant, veteran, and politician. Son of Robbie "Mae" Williams, he married Janice Ham-Williams on December 5, 1992, and they have three children: Jacobie, Rodrick, and Jarell. Motivated by the September 11 attacks, he entered politics in 2003 to improve education but deployed for war in 2004. He won election to the House in 2007 after returning and remains the incumbent. Williams ran unsuccessfully for U.S. House in South Carolina's 7th District in 2018 and 2020, losing to Republican Tom Rice both times. Community involvement includes past coaching in Darlington County Recreation, membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and awards like Man of the Year and Florence Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award .
