Biography
Robert Manger is a Republican representative serving Oklahoma's 101st House District, which includes parts of Choctaw, Midwest City, Nicoma Park, and Oklahoma City. Born December 3, 1956, in Oklahoma City, he was first elected in 2018 and re-elected for his fourth term. A retired law enforcement officer, Manger began his career in 1978 with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, serving in the criminal division warrant squad and SWAT team. In 1987, he joined the United States Marshals Service, retiring in 2011 after 15 years as Inspector in Charge, earning 20 Performance Awards, a Distinguished Expert rating for superior shooting, and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance for 20 years. He has also worked as a Realtor in the Oklahoma City metro area for over 12 years. Manger and his wife, Karlita, have been married over 42 years, reside in District 101, and have two adult sons, Jordan and Austin. They are members of Southern Hills Baptist Church and life members of the National Rifle Association.
Education and Political Experience
Manger graduated from Del City High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Oklahoma and an Associate of Arts in Sociology from Rose State College.
In the Oklahoma House for the 60th Legislature, he serves as Chair of the Judiciary & Public Safety Oversight Committee and as a member of the Appropriations and Budget Committee, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, Criminal Judiciary Committee, and Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget. Notable achievements include authoring 2024 legislation signed into law making combining fentanyl with other controlled substances a felony , and 2023 legislation making the first offense of domestic abuse against a pregnant woman a felony. He is also an Honorary Commander at Tinker Air Force Base, Community Partner of the Air Force Space Forces Association, and involved with local chambers and veterans groups.
