Biography
Robert Lee Dickey is a Republican representing District 134 in the Georgia House of Representatives, which includes Crawford and Upson counties, as well as portions of Lamar and Peach counties. A fourth-generation peach and timber grower, he owns Dickey Farms, Inc., started by his great-grandfather in 1897, and is actively involved in the agriculture industry as past president of the Georgia Peach Council, president and treasurer of the National Peach Council, and a member of the Georgia Commodity Commission for Peaches and Georgia Agribusiness Council. Notable achievements include being named Georgia 2019 Farmer of the Year, serving as a founding board member of the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum, and participating on the Governor’s Agricultural Advisory Board from 2002-2010. He serves as Chairman of the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee and holds positions on committees including Appropriations , Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Higher Education, Natural Resources & Environment, Ways & Means, and the Special Committee on Resource Management. A deacon and chair of the Finance Committee at Musella Baptist Church, he announced his reelection bid for 2026.
Education and Political Experience
Dickey and his wife are graduates of Leadership Georgia. He was first elected in a 2011 special election for District 140 , has been unopposed in subsequent elections, and is currently serving his sixth term, with a seventh term underway. Prior to the House, he served on the Flint Energies Board of Directors from 1994 as vice chair and was past president and current board member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau.
