Biography
Robert Dawson is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 65. He was elected on November 5, 2024, and took office on January 13, 2025. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dawson previously ran unsuccessfully for the Georgia House in 2022 and for municipal office. Notable achievements include co-sponsoring legislation to lower school property taxes for seniors in Fulton and Coweta counties, advocating for tax cuts, public safety, and education improvements in 2025, and working on auto insurance rate reductions. He focuses on upskilling District 65 for future economic needs, mentors youth, supports local schools, and serves on the City of South Fulton Zoning Board of Appeals, as a 2025 Post Seat holder for Fulton County Democrats, on the Executive Committee of South Fulton Democrats, and as a supporter of Coweta County Democrats.
Education and Political Experience
Dawson holds degrees from Sarah Lawrence College, an MFA from Bennington College, and a degree from Harvard University.
