Biography
Robert Emmett Craven Sr. is a Democrat representing District 32 in the Rhode Island House of Representatives since January 1, 2013. He serves as Chairman of the House Municipal Government Committee and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, House Innovation and Technology Committee, and House Small Business Committee. Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation to exempt social security income from taxation, improve Rhode Island's estate tax, expand "Good Samaritan" protections for drug overdoses, eliminate the "master lever" on ballots, secure $6 million in federal funds for storm-damaged piers, protect workplace rights on political and religious matters, expand Family Court jurisdiction on military bases, and advance housing production through zoning reforms and streamlined processes.
