Biography
Robert Allain III is a Republican state senator representing District 21 in the Louisiana State Senate, which includes parishes such as Assumption, Iberia, Lafourche, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Terrebonne. A native of Franklin, Louisiana, he succeeded his father, Bret Allain, in the seat after being elected on November 18, 2023, and is eligible to serve through the 2032-2036 term. As a farmer, entrepreneur, and businessman, he is president of Integrity Marine—a dredge, debris removal, and demolition company focused on coastal restoration—and a partner in the family sugarcane farm, Adeline Planting Company. He identifies as a common-sense conservative advocating innovative business approaches to state government and budgeting.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Louisiana State University; completed LSU’s two-year Agriculture Leadership Development Program on local, national, and international agriculture and economics; graduated from Leadership St. Mary through the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Republican State Central Committee for Senate District 21A , developing coalitions to support Republican candidates; elected state senator for District 21 ; serves on committees including Vice Chair of Commerce, Consumer Protection and International Affairs, Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development, Natural Resources, and others; voted for notable measures like Constitutional Carry and procedures for challenging statute constitutionality .
