Biography
Rob Stafsholt is a Republican state senator representing Wisconsin's 10th Senate District in northwest Wisconsin, which includes all of Buffalo, Pepin, Pierce, and St. Croix counties, most of Trempealeau and western Dunn counties, and cities such as Hudson, New Richmond, River Falls, and Mondovi. A lifelong resident of St. Croix County, he grew up on his family's farm near New Richmond and remains an active community member, including as a lifetime NRA member, Farm Bureau participant, and avid outdoorsman involved in hunting and fishing. He is a father to one daughter, Maggie. Stafsholt owns a waste disposal company and has prior experience in food manufacturing, mortgage origination, and real estate investments.
Education and Political Experience
Stafsholt graduated from New Richmond Public Schools and attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and University of Wisconsin-River Falls. First elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly's 29th District in 2016 and re-elected in 2018, he served four years there before winning election to the State Senate in 2020, assuming office in January 2021. Re-elected in 2024, he is currently in his fourth term overall, serving through at least 2026. He chairs the Senate Committee on Sporting Heritage, vice-chairs Economic Development and Technical Colleges, and serves on Financial Institutions, Housing, Rural Issues and Forestry.
