Biography
Senator Robert Plunkett is a Democrat representing the Bennington District in the Vermont State Senate, where he has served since January 8, 2025. A longtime Deputy State's Attorney in Bennington, he has built a career in public service, including roles on the Bennington Rescue Squad board, co-chairing the Bennington Charter Review Committee , and serving as a former member of the Mount Anthony Union School Board. Notable committee positions include Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Institutions, Chair of the Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee and Joint Legislative Justice Oversight Committee, and membership on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Canvassing Committee, and Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules. He resides in Bennington at 344 Elm St. with his two children and their dog.
