Biography
Robert G. Ortt is a Republican/Conservative/Independence Party member representing New York's 62nd Senate District, which includes parts of Niagara, Orleans, and Monroe counties. Sworn into the New York State Senate in January 2015, he currently serves as Minority Leader. A U.S. Army National Guard veteran, Ortt enlisted in October 2001 following the September 11 attacks and deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2008, earning the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge.
