Biography
Rob Nosse is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 42 since 2014. Born in 1967 in Marion, Ohio, he is a longtime labor organizer and LGBTQ+ activist who previously worked for the Oregon Nurses Association, SEIU, and Oregon Student Association.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.A. from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
- Political Experience: Appointed to the House in 2014 following a vacancy; reelected since. Serves as Chair of the House Health Care Committee, Vice Chair of the House Behavioral Health Care Committee, co-chair of Ways and Means human services subcommittee, and one of two Majority Whips.
- Notable Achievements: Directed over $1 billion in marijuana revenues to behavioral health investments . Early activism against Ballot Measure 9 ; board member of Basic Rights Oregon advancing marriage equality. Affiliations include Oregon League of Conservation Voters and Teamsters Local 223.
