Biography
Rob Clifton is a Republican representative for Georgia House District 131, which covers a portion of Columbia County, including the City of Evans . A businessman and former Auburn football player, he serves as CEO of Clifton Construction and is married to Lauren with two children, Haviland and Bauer. He attends Journey Community Church and is a proud alumnus of Leadership Augusta and Leadership Columbia County, while serving on the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee. Clifton identifies as a constitutional conservative, advocating for low taxes, business deregulation, and policies to empower small business owners.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Third-generation Auburn graduate and former Auburn football player.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Georgia House on November 5, 2024, after defeating Democrat Heather White in the general election and fellow Republican Paul Abbott in the June 18, 2024, runoff. Sworn in on January 13, 2025. Currently serves on the Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation, and Transportation committees. Appointed by House Majority Whip James Burchett to the 2025–26 Majority Whip Team. Also a member of the House Study Committee on Affordability & Accessibility of Georgia’s Legitimation Process.
