Biography
Ritchie Whorton
Ritchie Aaron Whorton was born on March 4, 1960, in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. He is a longtime resident of the area, which is located near Huntsville in northern Alabama. Whorton is a businessman who has been instrumental in building a successful enterprise in his community. Since 1994, he has co-owned and managed All Star Pools, Inc., a company specializing in unique pool designs. He is an active member of several professional and community organizations, including the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Southeastern Madison County Business Association, the Huntsville-Madison County Builders Association, and the North Alabama and New Covenant Emmaus Communities.
Education
Whorton graduated from New Hope High School in 1978. He went on to attend Jacksonville State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in 1983.
Political Experience
Whorton is a member of the Republican Party and has served in the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 22 since November 5, 2014. His district encompasses eastern Madison County and western Jackson County in the northern part of Alabama. He was most recently elected on November 8, 2022, to continue representing his district. As a state representative, Whorton has maintained a strong pro-liberty voting record, with a freedom score of 87% and voting records showing 92% pro-liberty votes during the 2023-2024 regular session.
