Ritchie John Torres is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 15 from January 2013 to January 2021. He ran for Illinois' 18th Congressional District in the 2020 election but lost in the Democratic primary to incumbent Rep. Darin LaHood. Torres served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 2000 to 2007. He earned his BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his JD from the Southern Illinois University School of Law. He practiced law from 2007 to 2012 prior to running for the Illinois Legislature. Torres focused on economic development, education, and infrastructure during his time in the Illinois House.read less
