Rita Potts Parks is a Republican member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing District 4, which includes parts of Alcorn and Tippah counties. Born on December 18, 1962, in Corinth, Mississippi, she has served since January 3, 2012, after winning the 2011 general election with 50.7% of the vote. She works in quality and regulatory affairs and has one child. Notable achievements include chairing the Local and Private Committee and serving as vice-chair of the Highways and Transportation Committee for the 2024 session; she also sits on committees such as Appropriations, Business and Financial Institutions, County Affairs, Energy, Investigate State Offices, Medicaid, and Public Health and Welfare.
