Rickey Thompson is a Democratic representative for Mississippi House District 16, covering parts of Lee and Monroe counties. Born on June 30, 1964, in Shannon, Mississippi, he serves as a state legislator focusing on constituent interests, legislation, and community needs in his district.

He is married to Shelia Dianne Ivory, and they are of the Baptist faith. Thompson is affiliated with organizations including the Create Foundation , Minority PUL Alliance , and Spring Hill District MS Worker's Center for Human Rights.
