Rick Perales
Rick Perales is a Republican politician from Ohio who has served in various leadership positions in Greene County and the Miami Valley region. Born on September 22, 1959, in Selma, Alabama, Perales is married to Becka and has a child named Justin.
Perales retired from the United States Air Force in 1997 and subsequently became active in community leadership. He served on the Dayton inner city school revitalization program and participated in Miami Valley regional planning efforts. He was appointed to the St. Joseph Children Treatment Center Board, an organization focused on helping troubled youth.
Political Experience
Perales's political career includes:
- Beavercreek Board of Zoning Appeals - served as a member before entering electoral politics
- Mayor of Beavercreek - elected in 2002, where he focused on addressing city issues and managing growth in the community. He received the Jaycees' Ohio Outstanding Mayor award in 2003
- Greene County Commission - won a seat in 2005, with a focus on developing and maintaining jobs for the region
- Ohio House of Representatives - served as State Representative from Beavercreek
- Chair of the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee - sponsored House Bill 292, which created this committee
Community Involvement and Recognition
Perales has been recognized as one of the Most Influential People of the Decade in the Dayton Region in 2009. His community involvement includes serving as Greene County United Way Campaign Chairman, Beavercreek Rotary member, and board member for the Victoria Theatre Association and Greene County Habitat for Humanity. He also serves in an advisory role to Common Pleas Court Judges regarding Veterans Board selections and appointments.
