Rick Krajewski is a Democratic state representative for Pennsylvania's 188th legislative district, covering parts of West and Southwest Philadelphia. A member of the Democratic Party and Democratic Socialists of America, he was first elected in 2020 by defeating incumbent Democrat Jim Roebuck during the primary amid the COVID-19 pandemic, mass unrest, and affordability crises. Now in his third term, Krajewski identifies as a democratic socialist and community organizer focused on progressive priorities like ending mass incarceration, fully funding public schools, affordable housing, criminal justice reform , a Green New Deal, environmental protection, and workers' rights.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a degree in Electrical Engineering; co-founded a campus group for mixed-race students.
• Pre-Political Career: Worked as a software developer and taught volunteer programming classes at Huey Elementary School in West Philadelphia before its closure. Left engineering in 2016 to organize full-time with Reclaim Philadelphia as Lead Mass Liberation Organizer.
• Activism: Key role in electing Larry Krasner as Philadelphia District Attorney ; launched participatory defense hubs for criminal justice support, including one in Kingsessing; co-founded the Judge Accountability Table for judicial candidate forums.
• Legislative Roles and Achievements: Serves on Environmental Resources and Energy, Health, and Urban Affairs committees; elected Secretary of the Climate Caucus in his first session. Advocates for Department of Environmental Protection funding, Green New Deal investments, and introduced the Pennsylvania Recreational Infrastructure Revitalization Act for green spaces. Endorsed by Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania for environmental leadership.
