Biography
Rick Gundrum is a Republican who represented the 58th Assembly District in Wisconsin, encompassing areas in Washington County including the City of West Bend, Village of Jackson, Village of Slinger, Village of Newburg, and Towns of Jackson, Polk, Trenton, and West Bend. A lifelong resident of Washington County with family roots spanning five generations, he was born in Nenno and raised in Hartford. Gundrum worked in the radio broadcast industry under the name "Rick McKay" at stations like WMIL Milwaukee and WBWI West Bend, later founding his own business, McKay Enterprises, in 2000. He resides in Slinger with his wife Lois and is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, guided by conservative values and Catholic convictions. Active in local government, he served on the Washington County Board of Supervisors and Slinger Village Board . Elected in a special election in January 2018 following Rep. Bob Gannon's passing, he was re-elected through 2026 but announced on March 19, 2026, that he would not seek a fifth term. Notable positions include advocacy for Second Amendment protections.
