Biography
Rick Carfagna is a Republican who represented Ohio's 68th House District as a State Representative in the Ohio House of Representatives. He resides in Genoa Township and previously served as a Genoa Township Trustee, elected in 2009 and re-elected in 2013. Carfagna is married to Jill Carfagna, and they have a daughter, Isabella. Notable achievements include securing over $1.6 million in state capital improvement funds for projects in the 68th District and being unanimously elected Assistant Majority Floor Leader for the 134th General Assembly, where he was sworn in.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a B.A. in Political Science from John Carroll University.
- Political Experience: Began career with a fellowship at the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, followed by role as a legislative aide in the Ohio House. Served as Government Relations Manager for Time Warner Cable for 13 years, liaising with over 400 local governments. Announced candidacy for the 68th District in 2015, seeking Republican nomination in the 2016 primary. Sworn into the 134th General Assembly and elected leadership position.
