Biography
Rick Brattin is a Republican State Senator representing Missouri's 31st Senatorial District, which includes Bates, Cass, and Johnson counties. A native of Cass County born on July 22, 1980, he grew up in Greenwood, Missouri, and resides in Harrisonville with his wife Athena and their five children. He owns a small construction business and lives on a 40-acre family farm. Brattin is a devoted Christian and active member of Abundant Life Church in Lee's Summit. Notable achievements include his U.S. Marine Corps service as a sergeant for six years post-9/11, founding the House Conservative Caucus, chairing the Missouri Freedom Caucus, and earning high ratings for conservative policies like tax cuts, Second Amendment defense, pro-life legislation, and school choice. He currently chairs the Senate Education Committee and serves on committees including Local Government, Elections and Pensions; Veterans and Military Affairs; and Gubernatorial Appointments.
