Biography
Rick Beck is a Republican state representative serving Arkansas House District 43, which includes portions of Conway and Van Buren counties. Born June 15, 1956, in Little Rock and raised in Center Ridge, he is an electrical engineer currently in his sixth term , with his latest term from January 12, 2025, to December 31, 2026. He serves as Vice-Chair of the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee, and as a member of the House Education Committee and Arkansas Legislative Council. Notable achievements include receiving the Scout Master Award of Merit from the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the Advisory Board for Industrial Technologies at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton, and past involvement with the Center Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Sacred Heart Catholic School board. Beck is Catholic, married to Sheila with two children, and resides in Center Ridge.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Beck earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from the University of Central Arkansas in 1989, after briefly studying engineering at the University of Oklahoma.
Political Experience: First elected to the Arkansas House in November 2014 , Beck has served continuous terms in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025. His professional background includes 32 years as an electrical engineer at Kimberly-Clark in Maumelle , prior work at Tyson Foods and Crompton Mills, ownership of Rossi Electric, and adjunct professorship at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Community roles include Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts troops, STEM trainer, and board member of the Conway County Arts Council.
