Richard L. Yow is a Republican member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 31. Yow was born on August 7, 1944 in Sanford, North Carolina. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in 1966. Yow was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1992, where he served three terms. He went on to be elected to the North Carolina State Senate in 2002. Yow serves on several committees including Appropriations on Department of Transportation, Commerce and Insurance, Education/Higher Education, and Pensions & Retirement and Aging.read less
