Richard J. Cash is a Republican member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 31. Cash earned his BA in Political Science from Campbell University in 2011. Prior to his election, Cash served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. In 2016, Cash unseated incumbent Republican Senator Gene McIntyre to represent District 31 in the North Carolina Senate. He has served on several committees including Appropriations on Department of Transportation, Commerce and Insurance, Education/Higher Education, Pensions & Retirement and Aging, and Transportation. In the 2020 election, Cash defeated Democratic nominee Terri LeGrand.read less
