Senator Billy Garrett is a Republican representing District 10 in the South Carolina Senate, covering Greenwood, Lexington, and Saluda Counties. A lifelong South Carolina resident born in Williamston, he is a conservative guided by faith, the Constitution, and a commitment to community service. He married Denise Witt in 1976, with whom he has two children and two grandchildren. Garrett began working young, shining shoes at age 12 and later at Piggly Wiggly. After 16 years in the grocery industry, he and his wife founded the Garrett Law Firm and Greenwood Mediation Center, serving the community for 30 years. In 2020, he won election to the Senate, defeating an 11-year incumbent with 56% of the vote, and has served since 2021 as a "never-quit fighter" for conservative policies.
