Biography
Richard Hayes is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives representing District 57, which he has served since 2023. A Texas native born in Denton, he is a real estate and business trial lawyer, founding partner of Hayes, Berry, White & Vanzant, L.L.P. since 1985. He advocates for reducing government bureaucracy, property tax cuts, parental school choice, border security, and Second Amendment rights, and serves as Parliamentarian to the Republican Party of Texas. Notable positions include the House International Relations & Economic Development Committee, Urban Affairs Committee, Texas House Republican Caucus Policy Committee, Freedom Caucus, Energy Caucus, and Manufacturing Caucus. He is a Life Member of the Gun Owners of America, National Rifle Association, and Republican National Committee, and serves on the Council for National Policy Board of Governors. Married for 48 years with five children and eight grandchildren, he attends Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton.

- Political Experience: Chair of the Denton County Republican Party; delegate to Republican State Conventions since 1988; mentored parliamentary procedure teams to 5 national and 9 state championships ; past chair of Denton Chamber of Commerce; past president of Denton Kiwanis Club; current board member of North Texas State Fair & Rodeo Association; one of fewer than 350 Professional Registered Parliamentarians in North America.
