Biography
Richard DeBolt
Richard Charles DeBolt was born on November 3, 1965, in Tacoma, Washington. He traveled extensively during his youth while his father served in the military. DeBolt is married to Amy and has two children, Sophie and Austin.
Political Experience
DeBolt is a Republican politician who served in the Washington House of Representatives representing the 20th district from 1997 to 2021, completing 24 years in office. During his tenure, he held significant leadership roles, serving as House Republican Leader from 2004 to 2005 and again from 2006 to 2013.
Throughout his legislative career, DeBolt advocated for taxpayers, employers, schools, and local governments, emphasizing accountability in state government. He was recognized with the 2020 Guardians of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Business.
Post-Legislative Career
After retiring from the House in 2021, DeBolt transitioned to the private sector, becoming Executive Director of the Lewis Economic Development Council. Prior to his legislative career, he served as former director of the Chehalis Centralia Chamber of Commerce, establishing himself as a leader in the business community.
