Biography
Richard G. Collins - Delaware State Representative
Richard G. Collins is an American Republican politician and farmer representing Delaware's 41st District in the Delaware House of Representatives. He resides in Millsboro, Delaware, and is married with three children. Collins is the owner of Access Insurance & Financial Services and has been actively involved in his community through memberships in organizations including the Delaware Farm Bureau, Ducks Unlimited, Greater Millsboro Chamber of Commerce, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He is also a member of Crossroads Community Church.
Education
Collins is a graduate of Seaford High School and attended the University of Delaware.
Political Experience
Collins first won election to the Delaware House of Representatives in 2014, defeating incumbent John C. Atkins with 52.2% of the vote. He has been re-elected in subsequent cycles, winning with 59.2% of the vote in 2016 and 60.8% in 2018.
Throughout his tenure in the House, Collins has served on multiple committees including the Agriculture Committee, Education Committee, Labor Committee, Natural Resources & Energy Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee. He also holds membership on the Legislative Oversight and Sunset Joint Committee and previously served on the Telecommunication Internet and Technology Committee.
Prior to his legislative career, Collins worked as an insurance agent for Horace Mann Insurance Company beginning in 1979.
