Biography

Representative Reneé Pack

Reneé Pack was born on June 14, 1962, and is a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing District 92, which includes portions of Marion County in central Indiana. She assumed office on November 4, 2020.

Pack is a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1986 through 1991. Before her election to the state legislature, she worked extensively in education and community services. She has served as a College and Career Readiness Supervisor at the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township for more than 15 years and previously worked as a behavioral specialist and drug and alcohol counselor. She is also a small business operator and literacy advocate.

Pack and her late husband, Sean, are proud parents and grandparents.

Education

Pack holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from IUPUI.

Political Experience

Pack is the ranking Democratic member of the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee. She also serves on the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee and the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.

Among her notable legislative achievements, Pack successfully amended Senate Bill 433 to protect Indiana veterans from eviction by requiring courts to stay eviction proceedings for veterans who have applied for housing assistance through the U.S. or Indiana Departments of Veterans Affairs. This legislation followed a devastating fire at an Indianapolis veteran shelter that displaced over 45 veterans.

Pack prioritizes building community relationships based on respect, civility, and justice for all, with a particular focus on advancing equity and inclusion within schools and communities.
