Biography
Rebecca Kassay is a Democratic Assembly Member representing New York's 4th Assembly District in Suffolk County, elected in 2024 with her next election in 2026. Born on June 20, 1989, in St. James, Long Island, she lives in Port Jefferson with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Utah. Kassay has focused her career on environmental stewardship, community business support, and local governance, including serving as a Port Jefferson Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor, where she acted as liaison to planning and zoning boards, the Conservation Advisory Council, Tree Committee, and as the village's first Commissioner of Sustainability.
