Born on June 20, 1989, in St. James, Long Island, she lives in Port Jefferson with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Utah. Kassay has focused her career on environmental stewardship, community business support, and local governance, including serving as a Port Jefferson Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor, where she acted as liaison to planning and zoning boards, the Conservation Advisory Council, Tree Committee, and as the village's first Commissioner of Sustainability. Notable achievements include directing a youth environmental volunteer program at Avalon Nature Preserve for seven years and operating a bed-and-breakfast for a decade while engaging with local Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and civic organizations to address housing costs and Main Street revitalization.
