Biography
Representative Rebecca Holcombe is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing the Windsor-Orange-2 district, which includes the towns of Norwich, Sharon, Strafford, and Thetford. A lifelong educator and resident of Norwich with her husband and two adult children, she has lived internationally in Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Fiji Islands, Sudan, and China before returning to Vermont. Notable achievements include serving as Vermont's Secretary of Education, founding the National Science Foundation-funded Greenway Institute to launch underrepresented students into sustainable engineering, and receiving awards such as the Phyllis J. Rappaport Award , Dr. Lincoln David Lynch Career Achievement in Education Award , Martin Luther King Social Justice Award , American Graduate Champion , and Life Saving Award . She continues to serve on the board of Equal Access to Broadband and has extensive volunteer experience in child care, health care, and youth programs.
