Biography
Rebecca Dow is a Republican representing District 38 in the New Mexico House of Representatives. She served from 2016-2022 and resumed service in 2025, currently as a member of the House Appropriations & Finance Committee and Legislative Finance Committee. Notable achievements include serving as House Caucus Chair, Ranking Member on the House Education Committee, founder of the Early Childhood Caucus, and founding member of the New Mexico Women’s Caucus; she received awards such as the National Women of Excellence Award, Governor’s Award for Outstanding New Mexico Woman, and multiple recognitions for her education programs.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Distinguished Alumni of Tulsa Community College; Oral Roberts University Distinguished Service to Community Alumni Award.
- Professional Background: Co-owner of Dow Technology ; CEO/Educator; founder of nonprofits in Sierra County focused on early childhood programs ; recognized expert on faith-based and early childhood education; grant writer and job creator.
- Political Experience: Elected to NM House District 38 in 2017 ; ran for governor in a prior election; defended jobs, deregulation , Second Amendment sanctuaries, and traditional values; built "Save Our Western Way of Life" PAC; appointed to economic commissions and task forces by both Democrat and Republican governors; board member, National Federation of Women Legislators; founding chair, Sierra County Juvenile Justice Advisory Council; member, New Federation of Independent Businesses and Truth or Consequences Rotary Club. In 2024, won the Republican primary and general election for District 38 with 6,046 votes.
