Biography
Raymond "Ray" Aguilar is a Republican politician and businessman serving as a state senator in the Nebraska Legislature, representing District 35 . Appointed in 1999, he became the first Latino in the Nebraska Legislature; he served until 2008, then regained the seat in 2020 by defeating incumbent Dan Quick, and continues to serve . He filed for re-election in 2024. Notable achievements include serving as Chairman of the Executive Board and involvement in community service such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and Saint Mary's Catholic Church. He is Catholic and resides in Grand Island.
