Ravi Bhalla is a Democratic Assembly Member representing District 32 in New Jersey, which includes Hoboken and Jersey City in Hudson County. Elected to the General Assembly serving from 2026 to present, he previously served as Hoboken's two-term mayor, becoming the first Sikh mayor in New Jersey in 2017. Notable achievements include implementing the Vision Zero initiative, achieving eight years without traffic fatalities, improving pedestrian and transportation safety, expanding affordable housing, upgrading infrastructure, and addressing climate change; during his eight years on Hoboken City Council prior to mayoral office, the city's bond rating rose from junk status in 2009 to AA+ in 2013. He currently serves on the Assembly Committees on Children, Families & Food Security and Environment & Solid Waste.
