Biography
RaShon Young is a Democratic representative for Florida House District 40, which includes areas such as Windermere, Ocoee, Pine Hills, College Park, Apopka, and parts of Orlando, Maitland, and Winter Park. An Orlando resident and entrepreneur, he previously served as chief of staff to State Rep. LaVon Bracy Davis and worked as community programming manager for the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. He serves on the board of 26Health, a health organization focused on care for underinsured and uninsured patients in Central Florida, addressing health equity disparities. Notable achievements include his work on the Harry T. and Harriet V. Moore Florida Voting Rights Act, which aims to expand voter access through measures like establishing Election Day as a holiday, repealing mail-in voting restrictions, and enabling same-day registration.
