Biography
Rashid Armand Young is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 11, which includes Bienville Parish, Claiborne Parish, and Lincoln Parish. He assumed office on January 8, 2024, after being elected unopposed in 2023, succeeding Patrick Jefferson, with his current term ending January 10, 2028. An attorney based in Homer, Louisiana—his birthplace and hometown—Young serves on committees including Education, Municipal/Parochial and Cultural Affairs, Ways and Means, and the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay; he is also part of the Democratic Caucus and Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.
