Biography
Randy Wood is a Republican state representative for Alabama House District 36, which includes portions of Calhoun, St. Clair, and Talladega Counties. Born on March 25, 1947, in Tift County, Georgia, he has served in the Alabama House since 2002 and resides in Anniston, Alabama. He is married to Linda, with one child and two grandchildren . Wood owns Wood’s Auto Body Shop, served six years in the Alabama National Guard, and worked as a former Deputy with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to the House, he was a Calhoun County Commissioner from 1998 to 2002. Notable achievements include a long record of conservative leadership on fiscal responsibility, economic growth, strong schools, veterans' support, and law enforcement. He currently serves on the Economic Development and Tourism, Military and Veterans Affairs, and Rules Committees, and has previously chaired the Internal Affairs and Public Safety and Homeland Security Committees.
