Biography
Randy Alan Udell is a Democratic politician representing Wisconsin's 47th Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Assembly since January 6, 2025. A resident of Fitchburg since 1998, he is the first openly LGBTQ+ person to serve as a local elected official in Fitchburg and currently serves as treasurer of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin . Notable achievements include his unopposed election in 2024 due to no Republican opponent, prior service on the Dane County Board of Supervisors , and leadership roles such as overseeing the state party's multi-million dollar budget under Chair Ben Wikler. Raised in a working-class family in Janesville as a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, Udell is retired from a 30-year career as a telecommunications engineer in finance and planning; he lives with his husband Brad and their rescue dog Cooper.
