Biography
Randy Torres
Randy Torres is a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives representing District 17, which includes a portion of Benton County. He was elected in 2024 and is serving his first term in the 95th General Assembly. Torres is of Latino descent.
He resides in Siloam Springs with his wife, Molly, and they have been married for 32 years. They have two adult children: daughter Allison Torres Gooderl and son Christian Torres.
Education
Torres holds a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, which he obtained in 1993. He later earned a Master's degree in Ministry from John Brown University in 2003 and an MBA from the same institution in 2012.
Political Experience and Positions
Torres currently serves on the House Public Transportation Committee and the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee.
Professional Background:
Before entering political office, Torres worked as Market President for Generations Bank in Siloam Springs, where he specialized in commercial lending, treasury management, and private banking. Prior to his banking career, he owned and operated businesses in the service, manufacturing, ranching, and real estate industries. He has also worked in hospitality, teaching, higher education, ministry, and human resources.
Community Leadership:
Torres has devoted many years to community service. He currently serves on the boards of the Siloam Springs Public School Foundation, the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, Hope Cancer Resources, and the Western Benton County Partnership. He served as Board Chair for the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce in 2024 and received the 2017 Outstanding Civic Leadership Award from the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce.
