Biography

Randy Grellner is a Republican state senator representing District 21 in the Oklahoma Senate, which covers parts of Creek and Payne counties, including his hometown of Cushing. A physician known as "Doc" Grellner, he was sworn into office on November 13, 2024, after winning the Republican primary and general election against Democrat Robin Fuxa. Notable achievements include prior service on the State Board of Health appointed by Governor Stitt, leading efforts for pandemic victims, opening Cushing Urgent Care in 2014 to serve the oil and gas industry, and serving as vice president of the Cushing Public Schools Board from 2013 to 2019. He serves on committees including Natural Resources and Regulatory Services, Agriculture and Wildlife, Business and Insurance, and Retirement and Government Resources.

Education and Political Experience

Raised on a family farm in east Kingfisher County, Grellner attended a small consolidated country elementary school. He graduated from medical school in 1998 and completed his residency as Chief Family Resident in 2001, establishing a primary care practice in Cushing. Politically, he ran unsuccessfully in the 2022 U.S. Senate special election, placing sixth, and sued Griffin Media after debate exclusion. In 2024, he successfully ran for and won the Oklahoma Senate District 21 seat, serving as a Senate Member since 2024.
